Lecturers Biographies

Dr Liang, History & Politics
Dr. Liang graduated from Public Policy Department of City University of Hong Kong in 2015. She now is an assistant professor in Shenzhen University. Her research interests are the politics of China, local government reforms in China, and the collaboration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. She has published dozens of Chinese and English articles in journals and conducted several research projects.

Dr Liu, Culture & Geography
Liu Yanfeng, a newly retired professor from Shenzhen University. He worked for Shenzhen University as member of the university’s academic committee (2003-2014) and served as Deputy Dean of the College of International Communication (2006-2014). Now he is working part time as deputy chairman of the Society of Photographers Nanshan District, Shenzhen. He graduated with an M.A. degree from Jilin University in Modern Linguistics in 1987, and was a visiting scholar at the former Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages in the late 1980s. He served as Deputy Dean of the Foreign Language Department of Harbin Normal University in the early 1990s. He published three books (two of which are co-authored) and tens of papers. He taught mainly two courses: A Survey of China and Translation to the international students. The course A Survey of China, with hundreds of pictures and videos that were taken by himself, is rich and unique in contents and quite popular with the students.

Dr Jia, Chinese Etiquette
Jia Fang (Flora) is Associate Professor in College of Management, Shenzhen University. She got PhD in marketing from City University of Hong Kong in 2014. She has taught many courses, including Introduction of Marketing, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Etiquette, etc. As a team member of the national first-class undergraduate course and the national golden course "etiquette in the world", she has rich etiquette related teaching experience. Her main research interests include marketing strategy, corporate social responsibility, institutional theory, marketing channel management, etc. She has published many papers in SSCI journals such as Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management and Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics. She has presided two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Dr Li, Financial Development
Li, Fan is a professor at China Center for Special Economic Zone Research at Shenzhen University. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida in 2014. Her research interests include the information economics, electronic commerce and industrial economics. Her papers have been published in Information & Management, Omega: The International Journal of Management Science, Decision Sciences, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, etc. She was served as a researcher at the Public Utility Research Center of the University of Florida and an instructor for the “Regulation Economics for International Officials” course organized by World Bank and the University of Florida. In 2019 and 2020, she instructed undergraduate students to participate in the American Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling and won the Meritorious Winner prize.

Dr Ding, Livelihood & Business Environment
Dr. Wangling Ding graduated from the ZJU (Zhejiang University)-Cambridge Joint Ph.D. Program in Management. She is currently Deputy Director of the Department of Human Resource Management at the College of Management, Shenzhen University. She was awarded with Shenzhen High-Level Professional Talent, Outstanding Teacher in Shenzhen, One of the Top Ten Teachers in Shenzhen University, and Outstanding Teacher by Tencent Foundation. She hosts several research projects at provincial and state levels, and municipal programs such as Strategic Significance and Paradigm Shift of Entrepreneurship Contest in Shenzhen, and Development Plan for the Intellectual Service Industry in Nanshan District, etc. Her research articles were published on Current Psychology, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital, Collected Essays on Finance and Economics, Nankai Business Review, and Progress and Policy in Science and Technology, etc. Dr. Ding also offer Entrepreneurial Team and Partners, Performance Management, Career Development and other courses.

Dr Wu, New Era & New Paradigm
Kaishun Wu (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from HKUST in 2011. After that, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor at HKUST. In 2013, he was a Distinguished Professor with Shenzhen University (SZU). He has coauthored two books and published over 90 high-quality research papers in international leading journals and premier conferences, like IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC), IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), ACM MobiCom, and IEEE INFOCOM. He is the inventor of six U.S. and over 80 Chinese pending patents. He is a fellow of IET. He received the 2012 Hong Kong Young Scientist Award, the 2014 Hong Kong ICT Award for Best Innovation, and the 2014 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award.
